Now I know……..
Now i finally know why people blog.
I didn’t quite get it at first .. always wondering why would anyone share some of their most innermost thoughts and feelings with a pool of strangers. How vulnerable that must have made the blogger.How extremely weird that is…
but now i know..
for no man is an island..that there are times when you just want to let it all out(but not that much ya)..that sometimes confiding in friends seemed not to be the best way because you know deep down inside how much they love you and would always be on your side..even if you have gone down the wrong path they would blatantly close one, if not, two eyes..That’s why you love them in return…unconditional love..unconditional care.
Thank you all for your responses..some biased..some factual..many encouraging…many pathos.
Just want you all to know that it really meant so much to me that you cared to leave some words for me…They are all very uplifting…
However, ( that word again!), perhaps …not to be too hard on Mark..the eventual decision made was not by him..and frankly i do think that he has improved vastly……not to be too hard on the judges..i think they are entittled to their own opinions too..just like you and me…
what really matters to me is that if our team had done our part well and our participants are happy with what we did…and that we get the stamp of approval from you guys…thank you..thank you lots….
Please don’t give up on the show..it is afterall our hard work… i will let my team mates know of all your well wishes and with that in our mind we will strive to conquer greater heights and adversities!

btw, for those who have missed certain tv programmes, or rather, know that u’re going to miss certain tv programmes cos u won’t be at home, and u do not have a VCR or DVD recorder, and dun want to spend money on mobtv, and can’t be sure if anyone’s going to put them up “illegally” on youtube for u…
here’s a legal way to “record” your fav tv programmes (ch 5 and 8 only for now) online and watch them later…

i do enjoy the show host by you but there’s something tat i would like to feedback hope u dun mind.
i remember in the beginning when u start hosting you dun used to speak so much of the la, lor etc… but this few years i reali find tat u are over doing it, pardon me it can be a very bad influence and alot had been influence, sigh….
as to why i like to feedback tis issue, all the artist are on National TV and there are lots of ppl learn chinese frm ppl like u but with all the la, lor etc is reali setting a very bad influence and example.
i hope u can set a gd example and be a role model. thou i know tis is very singapore but is reali not a gd influence.
i am sure u know tat singaporean can’t speak chinese very well and alot learnt chinese frm TV if all of us keep learning the localise kind of chinese or being influence is reali not very healthy.
i duno how u look at it but i reali hope tat proper chinese can be speak during the show instead …. no offense! a group of us reali find tat’s a very bad influence
Gov are trying so hard to get ppl to speak proper mandarin and english but MCS TV program keep influencing those who watching to the other side …. sigh…

Hey..just happen to pass by… personally… i feel.. design and related concepts are very subjective…. as the saying goes… beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder… instead of focusing on the final results in which we cant change no matter what… how abt trying to see it in the perspective of the judges?
I feel, for 2 consective shows the results are the same… i think there must be something in mark’s design that appeal to the judge right?… Im not saying that mark is better or what… but.. trying to show that its very personal and subjective… so dun let the end result hinder in your process of learning… with this two experiences.. you will be able to learn something out of it and thus returning with better ideas and a stronger you… jia you!you can do it!
I will be looking forward to even better designs from you… there are a lot of people out there who believe in your ability and capabilities… bu yao hui xin!

I find out that in the 2nd part the house u design is better than Mark…Hanwei also find it that way…Frankly speaking I admire ur drawing and painting skills…if you dun become host or actor can become interior designer many designer had to eat bread no jobs for them to do mah hahaha..IF I want to find someone to decorate and design my house surely is YOU!!!Mark taste leh not that good look simple dunno how come the 2 judges like simple taste…I dun feel that mark had improved loh.. he had lose since part one and 2… never mind he only win 2 times and will lose the rest of the shows…There is no way for him to fight against you like heading his head onto the wall and dunno what is call pain…Lee Teng had help you alot in the show whereas another helper in mark team leh (the face and look look the same as mark lee haha…) he does not contribute that much only know how to learn shooting skills from Mark lee…
Dun give up so easily as the best parts are still behind…SUccess is just near you can u see that haha…I will sit in front of TV every monday night…

In this show, we can really see that Mark did put in alot of effort and most importantly, u guys enjoy the process of the whole project, in the end, win or lose doesn’t matter at all. U guys make mistake, stand up and learn from it. This is what I feel after watching this show. Same goes to our life….haha…Just simply dun give up so easily…Do remember you have friends, family and US with you!!!!

yeap. there’s always 2 sides to a thing that happened. Just like a coin. You may have lost the episode, but in actual fact you gained alot. =) You gained many concern from unknown strangers passing your blog and trying to cheer you up. You gain support from people who apprciate you talent. In actual fact, most of the time, we actually gain more than we lost. It’s only that people tend to view things from a negative point of view. Perhaps try viewing things from another view next time. You might find yourself in a state of happiness others won’t understand. If you’re troubled, flip a coin. Cause a coin also have 2 sides of it. =)

Well, Home Deco is a choice of preference.
What is preferred by one might not be liked by others.
Although results matters, but its always the process thats the essence of anything we’re going through.
I guess you might have to improve and leap out of the “kuang kuang” that you’re in now. Trust your taste in home decos.

hey. i really thought ur designs were much nicer that day. i especially loved that small table thing which was a wood piece carved with a rectangularish hole in the middle. so chic and beautiful!
i do agree that mark has improved though. but i thought u should have won that last episode. anyway its alright. if ur good, ur good. dun need recognition one. people will still come to u. and i must say i absolutely love ur wall designs every single time!!! gosh, ure so good with ur designs and drawings can!? anyway dun give up! always support u de!

Too bad I missed the home decor 3 this week, not sure what’s the peranakan culture theme mean, but I did a little research.. which I think your theme is too modernize and not much of wood work in it for the peranakan culture, although the design you having there is nice.

How are you now, still TRAPPED? I love your design!!! Don’t despair because design is really subjective! Your TEAM lost not because your design is bad but just not the taste of the majority of the judges! Personally I love it because I like the bright and simple design, it give me spacious and in a way calm atmosphere. (though i am still in the midst of my depression!!)
I think you are a great potential designer!! Can change to be designer in future!

yup..i agree that mark has improved…and so u must show that you can stretch further. maybe becoz u have been producing consistently high quality stuffs…the judges wanted to see you produce even HIGHER quality. I wanted to share with you my experience as an self taught artist – the first few times I drew people went ohhhh arrhhh over how its really nicely drawn ete etc etc. however after a few more pieces of virtually the same kinda of works, no doubt its good but people gotten used to it and wanted me to do more. ie. to stretch my muscles further and have another breakthrough. so i guess its the same for u.

Hi Bryan,
I do admire Mark’s courage and he is really improving and trying his very best everytime.
I used to think that the judges were bias in the 1st and 2nd episode as most of the time you WON, when sometimes mark’s work was actually nicer. The result was like maybe you score 10 pts and Mark scoring 3 or 4. Isnt this something wrong when seriously at times another person’s design or decor was on a upper hand to win. Mark got this “attitude” that people can’t see in the media content or communication wise and think he is arrogant when he is not. This is his personality. Don’t tell me some of you audiences don’t have such “attitude” and “stuck up” gestures.
It can’t be your design winning everytime, I honestly felt. I know you have many supporters and seems like you have a huge fan base. Mark needs to learn to be humble and I guess so do you and other artists out there in Mediacorp.
Why didn’t anyone complain or rant about how you always “suan” or bully Su Zhi Cheng in the “Pai Pai Zhan, Cha Cha Kan” variety show. I think Zhi Cheng had improved in many aspects and has his own ways of being comical and humorous. It can’t be you always using the same old joke or pattern to create “entertainment” in the show.
I just feel that FAIRNESS is very important to all artists out there.

Although personally, I do not like Mark, but I must acknowledge that his designs and ideas have improved alot. Looks like this series is going to a more competitive one, but like what I said before, it’s not how many times you win, is the vote of support you’ve garnered from all viewers. Can’t imagine if sms-voting is used….

just want to say your designs are really good but i feel that your ideas seem to be running out. compared to mark, you are very good with visualisation and details, not to mention your diy. however, if i were to compare your designs now with part 1 of this series, it does not give me the “wow” feeling anymore. i still rem once you made a dog out of wires and it was ingenious and added a wonderful touch. but now, your work is simple and nice and of cos, nothing for pple to pick on but also, nothing special.
as we do more designing work, we tend to get confined in our own style and eventually, stereo-typed. all becos we want no mistakes. so every now and then, we need to regain our child-like minds and let the creative juice flow once again. i wish to see that special touch in your work again!

You have so many comments, I wonder if you’ll have the time to read mine, but here’s it anyway. (:
Blogging is definitely a great avenue to relieve stress and to express our views on certain issues. As an advantage to your celebrity status, it enhances your fan base and allow regular folks like us to know you better.
Regarding your previous entry about losing in the second episode, I would just like to share with you a quote which you’ve probably heard. I find it very inspiring indeed.
“Life is not about the destination, it’s about the journey”
Thus the importance is that you’ve learnt new things or mistakes and enjoyed yourself during the designing and creation process. Also, the time you spent with your viewers whom houses you decorated.
So it’s not too much on winning afterall huh?
Then again, there’ll always be adverse effects from the home viewers…I’m sure it’s a common issue for you anyway? Guess you’re used to it already?

i like the show greatly. in my opinion, it’s one of the most creative local variety programme. however, i feel ah boon is dragging ur team down with his nonchalance and lazy work attitude-as portrayed on the tv. well, it could be editing but if he’s really the way he is as portrayed, i think it’s time to change him! u need a more able assistant!
all the way, bryan! i hope to see your victory in time to come! btw, i really like the marilyn moroe picture which u painted. may i know if i can find the picture anywhere online?

Press On! I love watching this show but if it’s “kelong”, I won’t watch it anymore.
You have my support! I hardly watch much Mediacorp shows now as they are of the same pattern! Still prefer Mediaworks then when there was strong competition.
Anyway you must contine to work hard to prove the judges wrong but don’t stress yourself out.
