HoMe DeCoR 4 Ep 7 EuRo-AsiA MiX & MaTcH 欧亚混搭主义

Once again, a big thank you to all of you for your wonderful words with respect to last week’s episode..been a while since so many comments flooded in and i am truly touched:)

And this week, a difficult topic again! To mix euro style and asian style together is no easy feat and this has been one of those episodes that i felt really stumped! Irregardless of how i feel, the show has to go on and we have to complete our task…

This time round, the 5 room flat we got was really gigantic and with our budget ,really dont know how to fill it up!

IMG_2531.JPG

The present way the furnitures are placed came across as really akward and the fan really gets in the way..

IMG_2532.JPG

the dining room is really bare..and the present dining set they have is way too small..

IMG_2534.JPG

I simply adore audrey hepburn ..and i feel she encompasses the beauty of the west and thus, i decided to do a portrait of her wearing a cheong sum, a direct translation of euro-asia mix and match:)

IMG_2550.JPG

With her being placed at that spot denotes the new center of the living rooma and i am thus able to shift the living room area to its new location..

IMG_2549.JPG

I felt that the dining room has got a vast potential and thus, with the aid of curtains, i am able to create this cosy enclosed space where the dining table that we purchased reigned proud and elegant..

IMG_2554.JPG

IMG_2559.JPG

With the chinese characters surrounding the dining table, i fulfilled the euro asia mix and match criteria

IMG_2545.JPG

BEFORE                                                                   AFTER

IMG_2532.JPG IMG_2554.JPG

We Won!

the couple was so touched and happy and they cried..tears of joy..

..and such moments reminds me why i love my job….

    Hi Bryan,

Caught some parts of today’s episode. Think you feel frustrated when you are unable to draw the portrait well initially, don’t be too hard on yourself sometimes. If I were a contestant, even if I don’t win, I’ll be happy just to keep your DIY stuff. :)

    自己的努力等到他人的认同,当然是好事!若你感动别人的同时,也被別人感动,整个世界突然都因自己的一点点努力而变得温暖及可爱,这种价值是无可估量的……加油,Bryan!

Great job especially with the Audrey Hepburn portrait!!! What amazes me is when you donned the Qi Pao on her, it wasn’t just a straight cut 1D thingy, turned out splendidly 3D.

    Hi Bryan,

Congrats that you have won once again. We never missed your show every week. Me and my husband love your D.I.M. so much. Now we are planning to renovate our house after staying @ Strathmore Ave for almost 4years plus. We would love you to design our house. Is there any way we can approach the mediacorp for such request? How do we apply for it? Great thanks.

    Take good care,

    Hi Bryan,

Good job! It feels abit roman-ish with the curtains, and I muz say your partitioning is done very well. Its an awkward shape with the living room and the dining area, and curtains really fills up the otherwise empty space between them. I have the Audrey Hepburn picture in my room, and I’m very interested to try my hand at paintings on my own. Can I ask where you get your wood/ or canvas from? Do I have to get from art shop? Or I can juz buy from industrial area? Very often, art shops sells things much higher then those industrial areas. And what paint did you use? Is it oil paint? or juz nippon paint? Your help will be very much appreciated.

Also thank you for giving out the address on where to get the wood and woodskin. 2 thumbs up!! ^^

    Bryan
While chosing the furniture you mentioned you will decorate the dinning area with alots of cloth. Is the inspiration came to you at that very moment? How amazing your inspiration can come so easily!!
Trying to image how the dinning area will look like if the owner has used the softer and transparent fabric which you actually wanted. I think it should be like living in the fairytale. Like your AH painting. Your using the real fabric to paste on the painting is another great creativity. Bryan Keep it up.
