After watching this episode, I can’t agree more with ghostlike soul from the previous home decor thread, about the judges’ credibility and professionalism. Each can have his own taste and preference about what is nice what is not, but as professional judges, how can they comment that Mark’s team is better because the house used a projector thus have no tv console? For sure they know this belongs to the family originally (not an idea suggested by Mark for this theme and bought with the budget given), and they should base their judging on what Bryan and Mark did to the houses and how they transformed them. Unless they change the judges and or make clear the judging criteria, Bryan I think you should boycott this programme if there is going to be a season 4!

You really deserved to win this round. It just broke my heart to see such a design masterpiece get taken apart in the end. Well, at least the lucky contestants get to keep the painting and the DIY magazine rack, they were way cool…no close up of the rack?
the judging was really ridiculous, so mark won because the family he got had a projecter?

well, anyway, happy new year to you…may you have joy and success in everything that you do, and thanks from the bottom of my heart for being my ‘kai xin guo’ and my inspiration throughout this year and many before. Rock on, dude!

for this episode, ii prefer mark’s design more.. becosh of the cemented wall and the combination of the colours..
for ur design ii felt that it doesnt really suit the theme (sorie).
ii may not know the interior design work but ii felt that mark’s improving epi by epi..
ii do hope that u would win next epi, so dun be despair! ((:

Hi Bryan, even thought u lose, i still think your home decor for this week is wonderful. I love your pictures that u paint as it makes some feeling in the house. Your ideas are creative and fresh especially the pictures u paint on the wall every week and your DIY. Don’t give up. continued to think of more ideas for the theme of the day and u will eventually win. By the way, the shows u acted are funny and i love it very much especially when u are with Quan Yi Feng.

    hi bryan,

i enjoy watching every episode of home decor and your creativity and artistic ability never fail to amaze me. although you have lost in some episodes, it does not mean that your creations are lacklustre. i believe that there are many elements that contribute to winning or losing in a competition, and the quality of the product is just one of them. nevertheless, there are plenty out there who sing praises of your creations, and i hope that you just keep getting better at it!

best wishes and happy 2008! =)

    Hi Bryan & his Supporters,

I’m Ellen… The house owner who lost in this LOFT wor… Most of you feel that we should win and I’m glad to hear that even though the fact is we lost. But dun worry… cos even the furniture are no longer in the house but the FEEL and the SPRITE of the whole team & the crew still remains there lor… They nvr take it back wor… I have nvr think of win or lose when I first join this competition. I only just hope that i can be in Bryan’s Team and involve in the DIY. Which Bryan gave me a chance lor… cos I had stopped drawing 10 years back after my school, fortunately i still can manage to draw the ‘MIAO ZHE DONG’ out and did not disappoint everyone wor… N I’m lucky enough is Bryan paint very well lor…

Once again, I would like to thanks to Bryan, Lee Teng & Crew for giving a new make over to my house even though we lost. My house is the last house that Bryan did in 2007 and we lost so I hope in 2008 the first house that Bryan do n with Ah Boon return, you will win…

For BRYAN – Thank you so much for making my hse look so ‘MEI MEI’ wor… All the DIY that you did are still at their original place… I nvr remove to relocate them so the FEEL is the there lor… Could you please drop an email back to me?

    Cheerio!!!
    Ellen

    Hi Bryan,

Happy 2008!! Really nice loft concept, I’d seen many loft units and never realised we could do the same for a unit w/o high ceiling, really inspirational.

Well, different people have different opinions; but I do think this is one of your best – clean, neat, straightforward concept.

Thank you for making this programme so interesting…

I totally agreed that you should win but too bad, two of the judges’ eyes kana “stamped” so can’t be helped…

Don’t worry… the viewers’ eyes are sharp and we all know you are a better designer and you should win! Or else how come majority of the contestants chose you to be their preferred designer leh?

Cheer Up and I Wish You A Happy, Healthy & Wealthy Year 2008!!

was so disappointed you lost again~ not your fault at all…

sometimes it makes me wonder~ did the tv producer deliberately wanna ‘adjust’ the results by the judges so as to come to a near draw-draw situation to show how tough the competition between you and mark is? and thus attract viewers to stay tuned?

i mean i really don’t think the judges are that blind… are they?

well as i’ve been told and taught during mass comm and tv production classes, tv programmes are all scripted… including results sometimes…

hopefully they don’t sacrifice your talents and recognition for their programme purposes~

    Hi Bryan,

I admire your professionalism as a TV host & i believe all yr supporters can see all yr unique creativity for spaces from Bai Jia Le 1 t0 3. Although you may have lost, I can see that you did alot of research for each theme every week. Its just pure luck that Mark’s team had the projector in their house which is useful in the competition.

I think as a variety host, 1 must be professional, good in languages & keep on upgrading yrself constantly. Mark can’t even say “stainless steel” properly & even when people highlight to him, he did not make the effort to remember it. BTW, i’ve already noticed that he can’t say “stainless steel” in the previous episode. Such a shame. If I’m not wrong, Lee Teng is from China & i bet he can speak a proper english sentence.

I can’t help but wonder why Mark Lee won the best TV Host award. Be it any political reasons, do stand strong & yr turn will come..

    Happie New yr!!

  38. Peiying said,

    Hi Bryan,

Don’t be sad. I know the feeling of losing is not really good and maybe it is pointless to say process is more important than the results. However, at the very least, your group like the design all of you have put together and thats what it matters; receiving the assurance from the owner that she does adores the creativity and design as well.

I do like the Loft concept you’ve instilled in the house. However, to speak the truth, Mark’s design had surprisingly turned out nice as well. I believed this time he won because he gave the home a very different loft feeling (not the usual spacious, condo feel) which showcase his initiatives to be daring and innovate. Maybe that is why the judges chose him.

I’ve realised this one thing in the recent few episodes. As you’ve matured alot since the start of this programme in Bai Jia Le 1, when a theme was given to you, you can immediately pull out an image of what kind a home will fit the theme and maybe thats why limit the possibility of exploring different ways of expressing it. Maybe its time to squeeze that creative juices out again not just on the diy products but the entire feel. Re-create the next seaside-resort like home you did for the previous episode!!! It is one home you did way out of convention and it earned the hearts of everyone….

Jia you!!! And boon will assist you the other time round.. =)

    Cheers

Bryan, keep up with the DIY works! You’re doing wonders and those creative juices of yours flow like crazy =P Indeed, like what you’ve said, just do what you can. Enjoy the precious moments with the contestants. Ah boon is back for next week and YAY~ I mean, this is the third series already. Perhaps Mark has improved but I know you can do better! You are still impressing me, and many others…

Not that Mark Lee is no good but comparing the two, one look most will agree the loft concept winning should be here. : (
