DMW:心灵探索 Search for Soul

It took me all nine months away from home to do this programme that impacted and enriched my life in so many ways..it took ten weeks to share with you ten hours of three quarters of the nine months and this week, we are into the eleventh episode of Destination Most Wanted..we are coming almost to the end of the journey..

Probably because of that, at this eleventh hour, we dwell into the topic of { Search For Soul}… For the huge part of last year, i did a lot of soul searching…Learning new stuffs… reconfiguring mindsets… free my soul..deriving at the present me.The journey into my soul, i guess, would be one that none on the pictures are able to show..perhaps through my thoughts..my posts..my words…

However, i could probably share these three places that perhaps when one visits there, the search could be over and  you shall search no more..

里希克虚 Rishikesh, India.

besides learning yoga, there are also courses teaching reiki..meditation…and one of the best spots to do so is none other than right at the river ganges..

The highlight of my visit here is probably visiting this spot where the beatles came for their retreat in the sixties..

Rustic..tranquil..one can certainly find peace within and the spirits thus soars..free…

班伯里农场 Banbury hill farm, UK.

how i adore the english countryside..the sky ever so blue, dotted with puffy white clouds..the pastures filled with wheat, colours everchanging ..brown to golden,as if the fairies sprinkled gold dusts everywhere…

a walk in the country lifts your spirits,as the wind caresses your hair..gently sifting troubles away ..

a brief stay in the countryside makes me understand the beauty of being back to nature..back to basics..where we live according to our needs and not our “wants”..

perhaps its time to smell the roses..and enjoy the revelation..that simplicity ,in fact, is the key to real happiness.

We are so used to think along the lines that we have to achieve something great and big to feel the gratification that we so desire.Unknowingly, we have placed ourselves, singlehandedly, into a situation where by our self worth is measured by the greatness of our accomplishments..Perhaps thats where we have gone wrong..when was the last time we did something really small and felt the gratification? if the answer is none, then perhaps its time to change our mindset and learn to appreciate all things, however big or small..

just like this little drawing on this very little umbrella..it may not be a masterpiece, but its my own little piece of artwork.Taking delight in this little accomplishment made me realise how little credit that i have given myself all over the years..made me realise how hard i have been on myself..i did some soul searching..and i found some..Be kind to yourself..even when the world is nasty to you..

IMG_5442

we may not be able to afford living amongst nature but we sure could afford a brief retreat ..perhaps taking a break from city life is the best remedy to a tired ,weary body and mind..

How wonderful life is when one is at peace with nature and all live forms.. i have had the most precious moments with nature at all these three places and close encounter with the huge but genteel elephants touched the deepest core of my heart. I now long for the day where i am able to forgo the convenience of modern lifestyle, the day when i am able to live on free of wants, solely based on needs. That’s a huge step and i know getting there is not an easy path..but i take comfort in the fact that at least now, at this age, i have had the pleasure of knowing an alternative lifestyle that perhaps would make my life just as enriching or even happier.I am glad to know that even if one day i were to renounce my present lifestyle, a simple life that awaits, is just as beautiful and perhaps, more of …well…a life.
