Yokoso! Watashiwa Bryan des…

After a delightful stint in Kyoto and Okinawa, i have now arrived in Osaka ,putting up in the heart of the vibrant city in a delightfully gorgeous boutique hotel named ” Cross Hotel”. Contrary to the name of the hotel, i am not the slightest bit cross as this is a wonderful hotel, so much so that even the internet service comes with the room so all you need to do is plug in and surf!

interestingly, as some had queried wat has happened to me and why i am not on the tele, well, its because i am out there in some part of the world doing a travelogue ” Destination Most Wanted”. Guess its been a long time since you guys last seen me, except for re-runs on tv..so, just in case you don’t remember moi, here are some reminders which were taken just so recently…..

Global Warming: Act now or continue to ignore

Flyin off to Japan tonight..once again, taking to the skies, to land once again in a foreign land, where new experiences and discoveries awaits… Quite an irony, as i embarked on every trip, i make new discoveries, new friendships and at the same time, i seemed to be drawing away from my friends here, almost as if i have become a hermit…distant and forgotten by people i know, back here, at home. Though one could argue that i could have made an extra effort to touch base with friends back here but, however, minus the days when i am doing a new programme “Glamour Mum”, the time left for me was spent on getting stuff for the next trip and on snoozing off..as i am constantly feeling tired…

I used to be an avid fan of aeroplanes..as in flying around..rather enjoy taking off into the skies and just being up there..still enjoy it but however, visibly less ..Guess that must be human nature, when you have little of it you’ll yearn for more..too much of it, the appetite might weaken and so die…Fortunately, my love for visiting a foreign land has yet to diminsh..in fact, it has grown and actually, it has nurtured, or should i say, awaken something inside me.. and that would be ” Global Warming”.

As i travelled to all these lovely destinations, it dawned on me that something ain’t right..the weather mode contradicts what we have known for ages, for winter and spring has delayed their steps far too long..With the recent disasters happening one after another, my dear friends, we might not be able to enjoy earth as much as we had before if we don’t do something about it..It has to be a collective effort and it starts with each and every individual. Don’t question the good that one can do to save the environment, even if you think that what you could do does not amount to much..If your friends are not doing it, perhaps try to influence them and get into the act of being environmentally friendly. Start recycling stuff, support products that are environmentally friendly.. Act now rather then regret later if anything should hit you closer then what you see happening now. Whatever that is happening now, i think, are warnings from mother earth herself..should we heed it or turn a deaf ear to it?

“World peace seems to be on the top of the priority wishlist in every pageant. But, we are far from it. With all the war and fighting that is going on”peace” seems to be drifting away from us. And now, nature is turning her back on us too, as what we have done to the environment for the past years has apparently disrupted the “peace” that we so enjoyed.

So, the question is, what should be on our priority now?

It is an obvious answer. As all ordinary folks can see.

Sadly, some are oblivious to it.

And these “some”, could have made a world of difference.

My Virgin trip to Kathmandu,Nepal

Needless to say, once again, i have taken to the skies again and this time, another virginal trip(as i have never been to Turkey before) and i am immediately taken by the raw feel of the place as we landed this afternoon at two.

I was told that even a seasoned traveller would have some difficulty with the local food and thus, cup noodles dominated three quarter of my case along with a big bag of remedies ranging from actifasts to charcoal pills.Joining the strong contingent we have also chocolate bars, yoghurt museli bars, three in one coffee mix and natural nuts ( just in case i go nuts).

We checked into Hotel Himalaya and was welcomed with chorouses of Namaste..( not forgeting i still have a sort of a sash around my neck which was presented and placed around my neck with a hearty ” welcome To Kathmandu”)
The hotel seemed out of place, as it is a stark contrast with the madness and chaos on the streets…

After a brief clean up, which includes my clinique three steps, we are off for reccee and it was heavenly… Went to the square where time stood still..historical artifacts lined the streets…ghost of the past whispered gently as the wind drifted past my ears….a sight to behold. Never to be forgotten.

Intricate patterns lined the silver and copper jewelleries and bronzed buddhas, resplendent in the afternoon sun, glowed behind the dusty display counters…little children running and chasing around the square, only to break their stride as they zoomed past you, just to wave a hearty Namaste, and off they go.

Such innocence and purity filled the air and a sudden downfall got us scrambling for shelter and we found ourselves seeking shelter within the walls of the ancient palace, right in the heart of the square……..

A tribute:

DSC00955

Eight years ago,

on this very night,

something magical happened and we found ourselves having a brand new choice.

Eight years ago,

on this very night,

i wept with u, they were tears of joy.

Eight years ago,

on this very night,

I was a part of a new tomorrow, a part of making history ,in our mundane lives

Eight years ago,

on this very night,

i was young and full of drive.

Eight years ago,

on this very night,

I was embraced with abundance of love, sparks danced in my eyes,

Eight years ago,

on this very night,

my heart felt that it would never die.

Eight years ago,

on this very night,

the night was charged and sparks shot into the sky bereaved of light,

Eight years ago,

on this very night,

I was counting the stars, merry in the night

Eight years later,

on this very night,

I am all alone,

memories,

fills the still night..

eight years now,

on this very night,

where are u wandering ,

alone in this miserable night.

eight years now,

when u look back

do u still remember

do u..

still remember

u & i

HOMEBOUND

Its been a really long week..long because we had to cover three destinations in one go and believe me when i say seven hours on the road ain’t exactly the kind of a thing you would like to do on a holiday, but then again, this time round me working ya?

Am now at the Istanbul airport, awaiting the 2320 flight that will bring me back home. I miss home. Nevertheless, this trip was fun though.Met some very interesting people and me actually bumped into my friend at the Spice bazaar in istanbul..really bizarre..Wanted very much to updateall these but simply not able to log on even though i have the password from the hotels..Maybe if you guys know the way to do it let me know, i am using Macbook, btw.

Edward, i hope that things are alright with your wife and sam, the dinner has yet to commence. Was wondering if all could do it this Sunday noon..let me know when/if i sms you guys on saturday night ya>>> And to answer another question , i am using Canon G9

Turkey is really a piece of jewel and we all should come visit if we can.Its historical background encompasses much that would leave us spellbounded.. The mood, its colours and its people are simply..hmmm…unbelieveably divine. Will share more when i make it home in one piece..

Till i’m back…

Take care.
