In episode three our theme is “Pop Art Culture”. Pop art dates back to the period of 1950’s to early 70’s.At that time, i guess “free love” and “hippies” were very much the representing icons of that time..not to mention dear sexy Marilyn Monroe and also the colour Pink. We geared ourselves up and prepared to move forward to the hippies movement!

After the cards were choosen, it was rather interesting that our contestant wanted mark and mark’s contestant wanted us.. After much consolation to either teams we went to their place. As you can see in the pic, it is a square living room with a mixture of furnitures..some balinese and some from the eighties..

And some chinese console with ornate chinese vases..

The windows were devoid of any curtains and the television is just sitting on a two tier platform.. notice also the oriental cornices on the ceiling, which unfortunately, does not fit into the theme.

So we got to work and did an overhaul….

Since Marilyn is such an icon of that period, we decided that we need her to grace the occasion and me drew again…

Cartoon with text such as ” Pow” “Whack” or “WOW” dominates the period and so another iconic phrase on one of the walls..

In the end, the four room apartment looked like this..

So another episode is down..that leaves us another thirteen eps…

It was good fun to visit the world of pop art..again had a good time with the contestants….

Was good to break the zero.

Finally.

Now i finally know why people blog.

I didn’t quite get it at first .. always wondering why would anyone share some of their most innermost thoughts and feelings with a pool of strangers. How vulnerable that must have made the blogger.How extremely weird that is…

but now i know..

for no man is an island..that there are times when you just want to let it all out(but not that much ya)..that sometimes confiding in friends seemed not to be the best way because you know deep down inside how much they love you and would always be on your side..even if you have gone down the wrong path they would blatantly close one, if not, two eyes..That’s why you love them in return…unconditional love..unconditional care.

Thank you all for your responses..some biased..some factual..many encouraging…many pathos.

Just want you all to know that it really meant so much to me that you cared to leave some words for me…They are all very uplifting…

However, ( that word again!), perhaps …not to be too hard on Mark..the eventual decision made was not by him..and frankly i do think that he has improved vastly……not to be too hard on the judges..i think they are entittled to their own opinions too..just like you and me…

what really matters to me is that if our team had done our part well and our participants are happy with what we did…and that we get the stamp of approval from you guys…thank you..thank you lots….

Please don’t give up on the show..it is afterall our hard work… i will let my team mates know of all your well wishes and with that in our mind we will strive to conquer greater heights and adversities!

Wait for me…wait for me…

In this second episode, the theme of design is ‘ Ethnic Fusion”. The shop that our team visited deals mainly in balinese and peranakan stuff and wats better then ethnic Peranakan fused with modern furniture! And so, we did:

This is how this five room flat originally is..rather filled to the brim with stuffs collected over the years..and so, we did our makeover!

Originally,the tv console was here, but we felt that the little window there is rather wasted, and so …

First and foremost, we did away the faded yellowish white the apt was originally dressed in and covered it in a soothing light cocoa colour on the L shaped wall and white on the others..where the v console was here before,We put the sofa here instead..with a little lamp( body in a cheong-sum)..and the little rays of light that filters thru the curtains provides enough light for some leisurely readings..

This dinning area has got a wall feature that houses some photo frames and also in natural wood colour.. we thought it looked a little bit dated and decided to add some modern touches to it..

And w e thought since the icon of peranakan culture is the phoneix, we decided to have one in the house..painted by moi sincerely…

and so, the new dinning area looked like this..

before, the entrance was rather cluttered, we decided to empty it and make it really welcoming…

All in all, i had a trully wonderful time with the participants of this episode..The family is really nice and wonderfully easy to work with. They fed us well and did what they could to help out… They are really cool…

However.. gosh, sometimes i really hated this word, our team….sadly.. lost once again…

Yes Yes..the show is back!

Unbelievable but true! we are back for the third season.With a total of 27 episodes already under our belt, we took on the challenge to yet again do a make over for 16 homes each. Debuting tonight at 8pm on channel 8, our first topic ” Futuristic Chic” and here’s my contribution.

Entrance to home before transformation

After a dash of colours and thoughts…

Longish living room with white walls..however, the owners liked the grey colour Galaxy and so…

As the topic of the day is futuristic chic, we choose the red colour for its sleek lines..

and created this cosy corner to relax….

the isometric drawings are done by me.. symbolizing the futuristic side with isometrical figures…

Though the results are such a way that our team lost ,we had a good time with the contestant as the family are really great… Till the next episode that deals with ethnic fusion…so long..15 more epi to go…

Hooo!

Hooo!Hoooooo!Hoooo!

Not making much sense am i ?.that i am..not making much sense. This is just so overwhelming… I thank all of you with all my heart ..really… This is all just..well..too much for my heart to bear. I wanted so much to think that i am alone..to wallow in self pity and resignation..but you guys came along and swept me off my feet with your kind words …letting me feel the need to un trap myself.
Just to let you guys know that your words are working wonders..am trying rather hard to pick up the pieces and move on..yesterday i went to the salon and had a haircut,something that i usually do when i am down or feeling really unlucky, for i believe that when you snip off your hair you get rid of some of the problems thats making you fret…also covered the white hairs that seemed to overtake the black ones on my head….

amazing isn’t? You have two complete strangers(in a certain way).. One poured his pathos and the other promptly,unconditionally offered words of encouragement and wisdom, so that the former could just get back on his feet and be whole again.

人间是有温情的。。

I am now still trapped..but trapped in a good way… trapped into a situation whereby i have to move on and be me again not just for myself but for many of you…..
